Introduction and invitation

Asian Ethnology is a peer-reviewed, multi-disciplinary English-language journal.
The journal presents formal essays and analyses, research reports, and critical book reviews relating to a wide range of topical categories, including

* folklore (narratives, performances, and other forms of cultural representation)
* popular religious concepts
* vernacular approaches to health and healing
* local knowledge
* collective memory and uses of the past

All back issues of the journal are now available as PDF files that can be downloaded at no cost. The journal is an open-access treasure-house of research and writing since 1942

About adding photos

Members can upload and publish photos related to their work and interests.

We recommend adding just a few images of particular significance. Illustrators, for example, can add images to create a portfolio linked to their profile page.
