About the Research Cooperative

The Research Cooperative was established in 2001 by one NZ researcher based in Japan. It is an international, not-for-profit organisation. Our aim is to help people anywhere develop skills and discover opportunities for writing, editing, translating, publishing, and other areas of research communication. The Cooperative welcomes volunteers, learners, and also all who can offer experience and professional services

The forums are monitored, but we do not vet our members for their skills, fees, or financial circumstances, and do not offer any guarantees in this regard. We depend on our members to assess their own skills or and requirements, and to privately negotiate their own work agreements. The site is open to all who are involved in research, or who want to be involved in research, irrespective of their academic, linguistic, economic, and geographical circumstances.

The site is based on an advanced social networking system that offers security and many benefits for our members and visitors. Members are automatically assigned an invisible email address through which they can be automatically notified about replies to messages posted in the forums, or comments on their own profile page. To join a forum, visit the forum page of interest (see menu at left), then sign up (above right) and then follow the instructions. Members may be private individuals or may represent companies, research institutions, and other organisations.

About adding photos

Members can upload and publish photos related to their work and interests.

We recommend adding just a few images of particular significance. Illustrators, for example, can add images to create a portfolio linked to their profile page.
