Any member can leave (
quit) the Research Cooperative at any time.
We encourage members to quit if they really do not wish to have any contact with other people through our website
To quit:
- Sign into the network
- Click on the "Settings" link in the right hand column of the page, under your name.
- On the "My Settings" page, you will see a link to remove yourself and all your content from the network, on the bottom of that page. Click this link and confirm that you want to leave the network and delete all content.
If you want to quit, but
without deleting your profile and content, then you can
deactivate your general account with Ning.com.
To do this, go to the Ning Help page, and search for help with 'deactivate' as your keyword.
If you quit without deleting your profile and content, this might create a problem for the Research Cooperative: we will be stuck with your details but have no way to contact you, and members might waste time trying to reach you.
On the other hand, if you think your messages and blog pages are useful for other members, then it might be good to just deactivate your Ning account, after leaving a farewell message on your blog page.
At present, I cannot see how you can deactivate just your Cooperative membership, to leave your messages intact while keeping your general account with Ning.
If you do deactivate your general account with Ning, you should be able to obtain a new account using a different password or user name or email address.
